Large Shampoo Bottles In Checked Luggage Allowed

Thanksgiving & Black Friday

As you all know, was last week Thanksgiving and Black Friday and I can tell you, I've rarely seen something crazy! No, to be exact, I've never experienced anything like the crazy Black Friday: D

But from the beginning ...
On Wednesday we went lunch bag and pack them after Westerville (behind Columbus) to Jim's family. Jim lives in a pleasant area in which it looks much like the series "Desperate Housewives", a real American suburban area. The house is decorated inside and very nice for me and Verena there was even an extra guest room.

After we arrived we were handed our first guest gifts. The Bretla came by the way very well and Jim's sister has asked us even after the Rezeopt because she is determined to bake for Christmas:) And we've all done it without scales and mixer!
was then ordered pizza for everyone and then spent the rest of the evening watching TV. Jim's little cousins were already there and also peppered me with questions about Germany and Verena: Did you also a McDonalds in Germany? Do you have Wendy's in Germany? Are there any Wiis in Germany? And so it went at least an hour: D Finally Dwaight then came to the conclusion that he could never live in Germany, because there were too few fast-food restaurants there and the bacon on the burger was too thin for him: D

The next day it was time. Thanksgiving. For weeks now the Americans talk of nothing else more. The food on Thanksgiving is highly praised and in stores piled up all sorts of articles about Thanksgiving - from oversized turkeys, about all sorts of dishes and of course pumpkin decoration. But ultimately I must say that I then a bit more of this highly praised day had expected. The day started initially with a Donought breakfast. On the table in the kitchen were three different varieties Donought (cinnamon, sugar and chocolate) and everyone just ran past the table, took a Donought and then ran on. So anything with a cozy breakfast together ... And for me, eh Donought were much too sweet, I can eat something early in the morning really is not and so I bit off of each one and then handed it on to Verena: D
looked after breakfast we then New York's Thanksgiving parade on television. This is a very large and ostentatious parade they must be considered part of the Thanksgiving tradition in America. march in the parade make many marching bands that march will not only straight, but really difficult formations. Really very impressive, and perhaps the time of the MVE should take as a model;)
also drove many trucks with big move, which funny people dressed down and waved any Stars karaoke songs warbled.

streamed by little then more and more people into the house and when it comes to actually eating was about 30 relatives were there. Before the right food was my turn, but there was initially a variety of crackers with cheese and dips Surprisingly, even vegetables for dipping. Preferably by the Americans so much dip was used, it is impossible that anything could taste the vegetables: D
The "dinner" began at half past 3 o'clock noon and was of course from a typical American Thanksgivingdinner: an incredibly large turkey (about 10Kilo) , the turkey stuffing, mashed potatoes, corn, beans, pasta salad, pasta, stuffed eggs, sweet awakening, cranberries, and finally the biggest ham I've ever seen in my life ... But against our Expectations has not eaten together at a large table, as I know the family events, but each grabbed a paper plate, piled up a huge portion of food on your plate and sit down in front of one of the two television or even ate in the stand. Somehow I was really disappointed a bit and I think it's really a shame that even at a family party always runs the TV and you will not even for a dinner time. Especially since the mother for a long time in the kitchen! I had found a meal together at the dining table just fine.

Despite all, the food was really delicious and I would have liked more time taken helping, but I the Americans now know it a bit, I knew that I was still a very tasty and was pleased particularly sweet dessert. And that turned out. There were walnut and blueberry pie, and a veeeery creamy cake.

Here you see the big cake, which was of course itself was bought and not baked. On top of this was then decorated with sugar better delivery pictures ...
be honest I am not even dare to try a piece that just looked way too cute aus...

On Black Friday in America everything is reduced. And not just a little, but really reduced! And as we must have all been observed so now the Americans are so open about why drive to stores on Black Friday as early as 3 o'clock in the morning! And we were pioneers: D Something like one must not even be missed if you're ever in America.
was in the shops even then just go crazy! Everywhere, people! Tired and exhausted men dragged the pockets of their women, they ran through the store, grabbed everything they could lay their hands and in the shoe department, it looked like on the battlefield. And at 3 o'clock in the morning all!
When I then wanted to do and Verena us after our first very successful shopping trip to the pay, I could not believe my eyes. The snake was once completely through the entire store and then wound its way in the end even between the clothing change through. And to give you only an impression, the store was about as large as 3 Aldis. So first there was pending. And we did it for over an hour. But the wait has been worthwhile, as you will see.

Overall, we were on Black Friday then from morning to evening in order to 3.00Uhr 19.00 shopping. I still do not know how I survive could, but it was worth it. Here is my output:
2 winter jackets
2 pairs of winter shoes
2 Jeans
1 sports pants
2 pajamas
2 pairs of gloves
1 cap
1 pair of socks
1 Sunglasses
7 sweaters
4 Tops
5 Boot

So I'm happy: )

And here you can see how much we have saved! And the $ 380 we paid for 4 winter jackets, 4 pairs of winter shoes, 5 cases, 1 pair of gloves and sleep pants. So as you can really say anything!

My yield (which is missing here, or anything that I bought on Saturday)

And Verena:)

The luggage set. Originally cost $ by 200 and we paid less than 50 for it.

My new shoes:)

As you can imagine, we went on Friday night quickly to bed, but only on Saturday morning the same again to get started: D Actually, I wanted to still buy an external hard drive, but unfortunately this was already sold out and so we went just a consolation to another clothing store.
When we came back from our last shopping trip went to Jim, we spent the rest of the day with lunch and Football . Look
Football is really big a deal in America. The team is the way for Ohio Bucks and wearing a red jersey. And every time the Bucks have a game each in Ohio with a red garment. Jim's sister works at a fast food restaurant and even there is worn on game days, instead of the uniform of a red sweater Bucks! So really patriotic.

Overall, the Thanksgiving weekend was really nice. It was super delicious food, my shopping is incredible and yield Jim's family was really nice to us. The whole family is very funny, always do the laughter and nonsense and I really felt very comfortable. To leave us Jims Father then also invited back to stay with them, we should ever come back to America. And when I come back then in any case to a Black Friday:)
