Women Sudden Sharp Pain In The Anus

Review: Sam Shaw, Lorie Karnath

In this picture book recalls Lorie Karnath at the time with the famous photographer Sam Shaw (1912-1999). Karnath is the 37th President of the Explorers Club, and developed and implemented numerous scientific programs to promote creativity, intellectual curiosity and the joy of science.

Sam Shaw began his career in the 40's photo and the following two decades work on the essence of the covers of magazines like "Life" and "look" are. Not least by legendary Photos of Marilyn Monroe he made in the Hollywood film industry a name.

Shaw realized the most famous portraits in Hollywood and distinguished himself as a pioneer in new styles and artistic techniques. This ebeneten the way for the independent film outside the American studio system.

The book contains a wealth of works by the artist. Karnath entertaining and highly informative reports from the stations of the artistic work of the photographer. Already in the introduction gives an idea of what constituted Sam Shaw.

The black and white photos are divided by topics, such as in categories such as Portraits, family and children photos, animals, the human body, natural and industrial landscapes, travel, fashion, etc.

Wonderful footage of Antony Quinn in Crete at the filming of "Alexis Zorbas" the reader both expect to beginning and follow it some impressive photos of Marlon Brando and Burt Lancaster in the 1950s that document the skill of the photographer. Shaw was convinced that we discovered after a period of concentration of his individual perspective and vision as a photographer and he said this not only on a graphical level, but also philosophical.

Shaw's visual documentation of the peace march against the Vietnam War from 1967 says more than a thick book.

His Portraits based on the following philosophy: "Instead of shooting with formal, rigid poses, I try to create an image that is not provided, even if I take up the usual facial expression, I'm waiting for the moment of personal contact This. personal relationships can be promoted through various activities in both the photographer and my subject, the protagonist, are included. I may take pictures for a while without the desired result in front of me, until the moment in which the person poträtierte "releases "and a little artificial posture takes." (Quote p. 61)

Shaw took many pictures of Anthony Quinn, also photos of Marlon Brando, Melina Mercouri, Sophia Loren and other famous Hollywood stars. The most impressive photos but he made of Marilyn Monroe. He saw, in contrast to many reports that actress as a happy person. The photographer did not believe the suicide of Marilyn's, but he hesitated at the thought that they had nachgeholfen their demise. The artist published until ten years after her death, again for reasons of piety pictures of her. Are shown in the book include photographs of the beauty a great pleasure for the eyes.
Shaw impress me the way travel pictures special. It's always the unusual which impresses. Intriguing is a photograph showing the Duke Ellington arrangement of the soundtrack to "Paris Blues".

It is impossible in a review to consider the wealth of textual and visual observations snapshots. The fact that Marilyn was beautiful, I have indeed seen as a child, but how beautiful she really was, I realized only through the images Shaw.

recommended.
