Brazilian Wax On Okinawa

In the middle of nowhere

now allowed to read it not only my latest blog entry, but you will at once while also supplied with background music.
The singer is Luke Bryan and is a well known country singer in the U.S.. Every time I hear that song I get a good mood and singing along has to immediately. You wonder now sure about, since I usually listen to anything other than Country, but this song is easy for me fully to America.
equal on my second day here in Ohio, I went with Nick in the car and then they played this song on the radio. Nick has now started singing and I still remember how puzzled I was sitting in the car and turned to me with a grin Verena. In Germany it is frowned upon finally listening to people and few would admit to our age, to even the lyrics by heart. But here in America it is different. Many in our age listen to country music and it is very popular. And I must say I like this music more and more!
When I was but two months ago with Nick in the car I did not know and my only thought at that moment that everything was "OK, now you're really arrived in America ... see how you play the 5 months of living! "
Every time I hear that song now, I think of this car and the fact that the two months I now actually more "survival" as well have.
I am now safely arrived in America and I feel very well:)

So, now written but enough about the song, you hear him simply as you read my entry and you will see that country music is actually pretty good my weekend ...

This weekend we spent in a cabin that is in the middle of nowhere. So somewhere in nowhere ...
Kristian's roommate has a Riessen piece of forest near Columbus with a hut, who built his great-great-great-grandparents when they immigrated to America. And the cabin looks like today as then. It really feels like the movies!

So we went as I said on Friday just after the university going on our trip.

On the 2-hour drive to the cabin of Jim. The trunk was packed and so more than the ceiling had to forward ... But sleeping was the easier:)

Verena nestled ...

Our driver Jim

And that is Jim's cabin. It is fairly large, has a kitchen, dining room, living room, two bedrooms and a veranda. And everything still looks almost like a hundred years ago! Very, very nice!

There was neither running water nor a shower in the cabin. And the "toilet" was a bit away from the hut on a hillside ...

Jim in the dining room. In the background is the Wasserkontainer, we had to bring along, since there was no running water.

The living room with stairs to a bedroom.

And the fireplace.

The first evening we were in Athens. This is a university town half an hour away from Columbus and to not compare with Portsmouth. While we were there quite early, quite a lot was going on. There are many clubs and pubs and there are an incredible number of students on the go! And everyone is in party mood ... So we have sometimes made the trip and the "party street" to explore Voon Athens ... :) Unfortunately, I had my photo not there, so there are currently no Bider it.

After we came home from Athens on Friday, we sat comfortably in the living room in front of the fireplace and talked together.

Kristian and I

And on Saturday morning we went off after a late breakfast to hiken - that walk. Jim heard a riiiiiiiiiiiiiießen forest next to his hut, which he then showed us on Saturday.

And there were no roads in the forest and many cliffs and slopes, was the hike pretty exciting:)

We
climbing ...

Among other things, it was then that slope up (if you look closely, you can see in the middle of the picture a little black dot. This is Kristian, climbs straight up)

The first stop was the "Indian Cave". This is a cave, which the Native Americans used it as a place to overwinter. Jim knew a lot of interesting stories to tell about it and it was really interesting to listen to him, everything about the Aborigines and his great-grandparents to learn.

addition, Jim ranger could tell us and then some to the trees, plants and even footprints on our way. here at this brown spot, a few days ago was a dead animal ...
Then he showed us a bush for example, grow on the leaves, from which we made earlier Froot Loops (the colorful corn flakes). The same course I had to check and they've tried and it really tastes as if you had a Froot Loop in the mouth: D

Verena front rise ...

saw in another cave

I and Verena in the cave

On our walks we also Riessen of rock sandstone. Very nice

The German girls:)

Another cave

Kristian and I, unfortunately, a bit dark

And that's the beautiful view from a ledge over a part of Jim's forest

Adam and Jim

Verena enjoy the outlook and energy for the next hike

Wow!

Sarena:) enjoy

beautiful view

:)

After hiking back then were all hungry, and then said Jim cooked delicious food for us

There was chicken with potatoes and carrots - this time without sugar:) And see how you
relatively hot. ..

And it really tasty

was gabs s'mores for dessert. These are cookies with chocolate and marshmallows, which is heated before the fire ...

mhmmmm ....

When Marsh Mallow

For me gabs then a healthy version of roast with banana, because I do not like marshmallows so ...

But the healthy part of the evening was for me then but also realtiv over quickly ... : D

After that, a game night was announced to play

Jim and Adam at the "idiot".

And then risk has not yet played

And now I will not say it was a fight between Americans and Germans ... but ... it really was! : D

And who won?
course, the German girls:)

The next morning, then cleaned up the hut and went back home, I unfortunately have to 13.00Uhr again had to be in Portsmouth. I had to help at a telethon in the registration of runners (I need now 30 Volunteerstunden for my history course).
