Saturday was finally the big night - Halloween ...
And Halloween is really a huge thing here in America! For weeks pumpkins and scary faces dominate the cityscape. In the shops there are tons of Halloween decorations to buy all the possible types of costumes and even the cookies have Halloween glaze ...
The houses in the city are all decorated. Of pumpkins, spiders on webs, coffins in the garden, giant spiders hanging on the wall, the monster in the garden can and multicolored lights are really all you see here!
And after our first half a Halloween party already had last week, it was said yesterday: after Athens! Because in Athens one of the biggest Halloween parties is increasing in America.
Up to 30 000 people gather every year in Athens and celebrate the night. And we were allowed to not want to miss. So I made
and Verena us on Saturday identified as apartment at half past five on the way to Suzy's. However, as we had to quickly find the girls there had just started to wear make-up. How could we forget that nobody is even close to on time? And so had we both wait for over an hour, until all were ready to go.
So then we sat down with more than an hour delay in Suzy's car and off we went to the 1 ½-hour drive of Athens.
But after ten minutes, then finished our trip.
Boom!
We had a car accident!!
Suzy had missed a turn and would therefore turn on the road. The road was two lanes, but as Suzy and turned the steering wheel to the left, another car was in the blind spot behind us, and BOOM - it had already crashed. I was in the passenger seat and only a millisecond after I had seen from the corner of my eye a little white fly, even debris everywhere through the air and the car slowly bumped only a few meters.
Luckily the other car was a huge truck and we were not at least tossed around! So clear! All inmates nothing happened, we were only first all pretty overwhelmed with the whole situation ... Suzy's car was complete with plates and a broken Frontbereicht in the middle of the road and the other driver was kind of pissed ... Man man man ... So it was
first time out of the car and wait for the police. The came relatively quickly and then wait GEDU it was! First of all, were distributed on the streets lighted glow sticks, to inform oncoming cars on the accident. Then, the accident has been measured and recorded statements. And that something was going from forever! Meanwhile, we all stood outside in the cold and trembled. In the end, even I and the other passengers had to cop and give up our data. So I am now even immortalized in the police register in America ... Well, if the so ne good thing;)
But one must expect to be a policewoman. She was really super nice and not a bit as unfriendly and aggressive, as I had imagined the American police ever. While Suzy
then called a tow truck we took care of driving opportunities to Athens. For just an accident, of course, not kept us from a Halloween Party starting in Athens. And finally It was then also no problem to find someone. After a short time were two friends of us with cars ready to take us and I would sit for 1 ½ hours in the cold at last in the warm car of Travis. After a quick stop at McDonalds we arrived finally in Athens.
But not for nothing that we had actually planned to arrive there much earlier ... You have no idea what was going on there! People were everywhere! On the streets, gardens, house parties everywhere increased and everyone was dressed. That was so crazy !!!!!! I was truly gobsmacked!
Search for half an hour of fruitless parking lot, we drove just a short hand on the sidewalk in front of a University Buildings and parked in front of the sports building

was really incredibly busy. The downtown area was completely closed off and so were all the people around on the street, a band played and before the clubs and pubs were drawn long lines ... and the costumes of the people were really part of the madness! They were really very imaginative and elaborate costumes, but even with a clear enough girls to skimpy outfits. So many girls ran around in ultra-short skirts or even just some irritation in underwear! And in this weather! Since I was quite happy about my have fur boots and even with those gefrorren I still ...

The Halloween party was the way to the campus of the University of Athens. And the university is as gigantic, that the campus is at least as large as Neufra or so! And in each and every student went home that night a house party! That was so crazy! Everywhere were disguised Young people, it boomed music from all houses, Beer Pong in any garden .... So what I've really never seen!

Even at the gas station was such a lot going on. Maybe because you could buy alcohol there?

As you know, yes, alcohol in America for 21 permits and alcohol consumption in public is not allowed. No matter how old you are. So you actually saw on the streets no one openly walk around with alcohol. A boy who was not quite so serious, was even before our eyes by the police with handcuffs and all the bells and removed it, as he had a beer bottle in his hand! Crazy!

And the guy with the St. Pauli sweater is a friend of the two "Bavaria" and has lived 10 years in Hamburg. I've then have a little talk with his friend, who has also studied in Kassel, Germany. After a while we were talking, then suddenly I remembered that the Americans spoke in German to me and I answered each time in English. against three clock at night, we were slowly but a bit cold and we decided to go home. Yet the very beginning of the evening we had three crowds our guys lost, it was now sought. And that was somehow not so simple. The boys did not know where they were, the only statement was: At a house party! What is at house parties in each house on the campus as a whole rather less helpful sometimes. And we knew where we were not really: D So we went
about an hour in Athens until we finally picked up all three guys, and then the third party was not nervous but in nem House Pub. And leave at not all pubs in Athens to have, Travis had summarily in all pubs called in Athens and asked whether Kenya was there with a blond wig: D
We were able to then make up 4 last the journey home and I was really relieved when I finally was able to cuddle then at six in my warm bed.
In conclusion, I can now say, Halloween is a really weird issue here in America! =)
